Hong Kong leader uncertain on second term in office

Hong Kong leader John Lee declined to say if he'll run for a second term, saying he's focused on getting things done in his remaining year.
His administration is pushing policy continuity and will unveil Hong Kong's first five‑year plan by end of 2026 to align more with mainland China.
The city has seen an economic recovery since 2022, but Lee has faced criticism after the deadly Wang Fuk Court fire last November that killed 168 people.
