Russian court jails a Kremlin critic for 11 years for opposing the war in Ukraine

Lev Shlosberg, a senior Yabloko politician, was sentenced to 11 years and one month for calling to end the war and for posting a critical image.
Yabloko is the only official Russian party openly opposing the war; Shlosberg has been labeled a "foreign agent" and held since December 2025.
The verdict is seen as part of a Kremlin crackdown ahead of parliamentary elections — Yabloko will appeal and Amnesty International condemned the sentence.
