Gang of men hurl racist abuse at takeaway owner before violent attack

Falkirk business owner Dr Zohaib Arshad says he was racially abused, punched and had his head slammed into a wall while walking to his takeaway; he stitched the wound himself with glue and says his children are now frightened.
Police are treating the incident as a hate crime and investigating — Arshad says officers took about 45 minutes to arrive and the attackers had left.
Arshad, a former Alba candidate now with the SNP, believes his political profile brought attention to the case but fears others without that visibility would be ignored; he says he won’t leave Scotland despite threats.
