Bahrain spy agency officer is sentenced to life over in-custody death

A Bahraini intelligence officer was sentenced to life in prison over the in-custody death of a man investigators say he caused.
The victim is widely believed to be Mohamed al-Mousawi, arrested during unrest linked to the Iran war and returned to his family with bruises and signs of torture.
Rights groups called the sentence insufficient and want full transparency, while Bahrain’s government denies sectarian bias and says allegations are investigated.
