‘Mass casualty event’ reported at West Virginia ball park

A canopy on “Randy’s Ridge” at Kendrick Family Ballpark blew over during a severe thunderstorm warning, injuring multiple people.
MECCA 911 labeled it a “mass casualty incident” and several people were taken to hospitals; witnesses reported at least three ambulances.
The incident occurred amid the WVU vs. Cal Poly NCAA Super Regional where thousands were watching from the hillside; the game was in a lightning delay and is scheduled to resume.
