Armed men ambush a patrol in South Sudan and kill 2 UN peacekeepers

An ambush in Jonglei's Pajut killed two U.N. peacekeepers (both Ethiopian) and wounded seven others — attacks on peacekeepers are still relatively rare but on the rise.
The U.N. condemned the attack, sent a Quick Reaction Force, and the secretary‑general has called for a prompt investigation — such strikes could amount to war crimes.
