- Miami's star receiver Malachi Toney is dealing with an ankle issue that could sideline him for this weekend's huge No. 1 Miami vs. No. 4 Notre Dame matchup — severity hasn't been disclosed.
- Toney is a top Heisman contender and Miami's offensive focal point (about 35% of catches, 39% of receiving yards, 46% of touchdown catches; 73 catches, 13 TDs, 1,027 yards this season).
- His absence or limitation would be a massive blow in a rematch billed for months — it would also spoil the anticipated Toney vs. Notre Dame corner Leonard Moore showdown.
