Belgium Appoints Bayern Munich Legend Mark van Bommel As New Men's Head Coach

Mark van Bommel (49) has been named Belgium head coach on a two-year deal through Euro 2028, replacing Rudi Garcia.
He brings experienced assistants including Boudewijn Zenden and arrives with strong credentials as an ex-Bayern captain and the coach who led Royal Antwerp to a league-and-cup double.
His first big test comes in the UEFA Nations League away game against Italy on Sept. 25 as he begins rebuilding the Red Devils.
