Xi says China’s commitment to North Korea friendship will not change, KCNA reports

Xi Jinping vowed China’s traditional friendship and support for North Korea will not change despite shifts in the international situation.
Kim Jong Un hailed ties as having reached a “new strategic level” after Xi’s recent visit, with both leaders agreeing to deepen political, economic and cultural cooperation.
The two countries are marking the 65th anniversary of their 1961 friendship treaty — North Korea’s premier is in Beijing for events and the pact remains China’s only active mutual‑defense agreement.
