Lula's lead over Flavio Bolsonaro narrows in Brazilian election second-round, CNT/MDA poll shows

Lula’s lead over Flavio Bolsonaro has narrowed in a potential runoff: 48.0% vs 39.1% (down from 49.3% vs 36.8% in June).
In a first-round scenario Lula leads with 42.4% and Flavio Bolsonaro has 28.7%, with other candidates well behind.
The main challenger is Flavio Bolsonaro — son of former president Jair Bolsonaro — and the CNT/MDA poll surveyed 2,002 people Aug 5–9 (margin of error ±2.2 points).
