Cai Qi, now head of the Communist Party’s Central Party School/National Academy of Governance, is confirmed as one of Xi Jinping’s closest aides.
He already runs the party’s General Office and sits on the seven‑member Politburo Standing Committee, concentrating administrative and ideological power.
The academy trains senior officials and was once led by Xi and Hu Jintao — a role that signals Cai’s growing influence in China’s leadership.
