US service member arrested at Capitol after calling for Trump’s impeachment

A US Air Force major was arrested on the Capitol steps after calling for the impeachment and removal of President Trump and Vice President JD Vance during a Removal Coalition news conference.
He spoke while in uniform and had been escorted to the House steps by a member of Congress; Capitol Police said demonstrations aren’t allowed there, he was arrested for obstructing, and a DC court later moved to release him with no charges filed.
Air Force Secretary Troy Meink said service members must follow laws and uniform rules and that a thorough investigation will proceed, noting public dissent by active-duty personnel is rare under military rules.
