Pirates Star SS Konnor Griffin Suffers Finger Injury; Expected To Miss 8–10 Weeks

Rookie shortstop Konnor Griffin (20) was placed on the 10-day IL with a sagittal band injury to his left ring finger and is expected to miss about 8–10 weeks.
Griffin has been a breakout — hitting .276 with 5 homers, 25 RBIs and 20 steals — and was seen as a future franchise cornerstone.
The Pirates (46-45) will lean on Jared Triolo at short and called up Jack Brannigan, while already coping with other injuries to Oneil Cruz and Spencer Horwitz.
