Latino leaders push DNC to make Nevada first primary or caucus state in 2024

Prominent Latino leaders are urging the DNC to make Nevada the first 2028 Democratic primary state to help rebuild ties with Latino voters after 2024.
They note Latinos now make up over 15% of the electorate (nearly 1 in 5 Nevada voters) and say Nevada would force candidates to engage diverse, working‑class communities early.
The DNC Rules and Bylaws committee will vote soon (with a full DNC vote next month), and supporters say Nevada’s campaign to go first has been the most organized.
