'Misogyny and fetishism' - the story of the last woman to be hanged in Wales

Leslie James (probably Rhoda Willis) became the last woman hanged in Wales in 1907 after being convicted of smothering a baby — she was executed on her 40th birthday.
A new book argues she suffered a serious 1906 bike-induced brain injury, had inadequate legal defence, and there were plausible alternative causes of the baby's death, raising doubts about her guilt.
