Oprah Winfrey says she will close her school for girls in South Africa next year

Oprah will close the girls' academy she founded in South Africa in 2007 at the end of next year and hand the campus over to the Gauteng provincial government.
She says her mission will continue through an expanded national scholarship program to support academically talented girls across South Africa.
Inspired by conversations with Nelson Mandela, the academy has graduated 500+ students who have gone on to top universities, and current students will be allowed to finish with continued financial support.
