Tropical storm Jangmi batters Japan, cuts power to 60,000 homes

Severe tropical storm Jangmi passed close to eastern Japan near Tokyo with very strong winds (up to 25 m/s) and torrential rain.
Widespread disruption: nearly 60,000 homes lost power, flooding, fallen trees and landslides were reported, and at least 15 people suffered minor injuries; hundreds of thousands received evacuation advisories.
Major travel and business impact: nearly 900 flights cancelled (about 90,000 passengers affected), bullet trains and local rail delayed or suspended, and some auto plants briefly halted.
