Brewers Catcher William Contreras Named World Series MVP

William Contreras was named World Series MVP as the Brewers beat the Rays in Game 5 to give Milwaukee its first-ever championship.
Contreras was clutch all October — big hits and strong defense (he threw out three would-be base stealers early in the Series) while guiding a staff that allowed just 12 runs in five games.
He capped a huge year that included winning the World Baseball Classic for Venezuela (his brother Willson was on the roster) and became the first catcher to win World Series MVP since 2015.
