North Korea's Kim Jong Un says new destroyer will be part of nuclear response system

North Korea unveiled a new 5,000‑ton destroyer, the "Kang Kon," which Kim Jong Un said is part of a state "nuclear response system" and could deliver "annihilating retaliatory strikes" (KCNA gave no confirmation it will carry nuclear weapons).
The Kang Kon is the second Choe Hyon‑class warship, underscoring Pyongyang's push to modernize its navy and expand nuclear‑capable forces.
Kim said new east‑coast naval bases, additional ship classes and units are being built, and promised another stage of the naval buildup in about eight months.
