As midterms approach, new poll finds that few Americans trust campaigns or Trump

About 6 in 10 Americans now say they trust federal information about elections, foreign affairs and the environment only a little or not at all.
Trust has grown more partisan — Democrats’ distrust spiked after Trump returned to office, while Republicans’ mistrust rose under Biden — so confidence in official info now depends a lot on party.
Few people trust election certifications or campaign messages (roughly one-third trust certifications and only about 1 in 10 trust party campaign ads), and many are worried about interference in the upcoming midterms.
