Widower who lost wife and 6 children in attack remarries in Nigerian mass wedding for 1,500 couples

Kano staged a state-sponsored mass wedding for 1,500 couples to help widows, divorcees and young women afford marriage.
Each bride received 200,000 naira plus startup capital and household items (beds, mattresses, blankets) as part of the program across all 44 local governments.
The ceremony had an emotional side — for example groom Haruna Bashir, who lost his first wife and six children earlier this year, said it helped him begin rebuilding his life.
