Shouts of ‘he should be shot’ heard during GOP midterm convention speech criticizing Democratic candidates

Audible shouts of "He should be shot!" were heard during Sen. Ted Cruz's RNC midterm convention speech each time he named three Democrats — Zohran Mamdani, Abdul El‑Sayed and James Talarico.
The outbursts came the same day Republicans marked the one‑year anniversary of conservative activist Charlie Kirk's killing, which Cruz referenced; it was unclear whether he heard the shouts.
Democrats and others — including El‑Sayed, Rep. Katherine Clark and Rep. Debbie Dingell — condemned the chants as calls to violence and urged public denunciation.
