White House denies NYT report alleging Wiles urged Vance to take social media break

The White House called a New York Times report that Susie Wiles urged VP JD Vance to step back from social media “complete fake news,” with Communications Director Steven Cheung denying the conversation happened.
The Times had reported aides were concerned Vance’s frequent online fights were “beneath his office,” a claim the White House says came from unnamed sources and defended Vance as an effective communicator.
Vance — along with Marco Rubio — is being discussed as an early 2028 GOP contender, and new hypothetical primary polling puts them roughly neck and neck.
