House Democrat: Platner’s tattoo should be ‘disqualifying’

Rep. Jake Auchincloss (D‑Mass.) — who is Jewish — said he won’t back Maine Senate front‑runner Graham Platner, calling a chest tattoo that resembles a Nazi Totenkopf and Platner’s comments about it “personally disqualifying.”
Platner, an Army vet turned oyster farmer who says he’s covering/removing the tattoo, is still the favorite to win the June Democratic primary and would face Sen. Susan Collins in November.
The public split has drawn intraparty backlash (some say Auchincloss is effectively helping Collins), spotlighting tensions between party unity and standing on principles.
