China's Xi likely to visit India with big delegation for first time in seven years

Chinese President Xi Jinping is likely to attend the BRICS summit in New Delhi on Sept. 12–13 — his first visit to India in seven years.
He is expected to arrive with a much larger delegation (around 400 officials), a sign of a possible thaw and greater engagement between the two sides.
Xi’s presence will be watched more for its signal on India‑China ties and ongoing border tensions than for BRICS policy — India and China continue talks after deadly 2020 clashes and recent patrol face‑offs.
