Peyton Bonds, Nephew of Barry Bonds, Drafted By Giants 90th Overall In MLB Draft

The Giants picked Peyton Bonds in the third round — he’s the grandson/nephew of Bobby and Barry Bonds, joining the same franchise where his family made its name (Barry hit 762 career homers and won seven MVPs).
Bonds is an imposing 6'5", 230 lb outfielder who hit .352 last season for Rutgers with six homers and 13 stolen bases.
The draft featured several family connections beyond Bonds — including Jacob Lombard (son/brother of major-league coaches/prospects) and high-school shortstop Trey Ebel, whose brother and father (Dodgers coach Dino Ebel) were also recently drafted or involved.
