UN General Assembly endorses a new world map that shows more accurately Africa's size

The UN General Assembly endorsed the Equal Earth map, which shows continents in truer proportions — Africa is about 14 times the size of Greenland.
The resolution passed overwhelmingly (164 in favor), with only the U.S. voting against and six countries abstaining; it encourages but does not ban the Mercator map.
