Killer of law student in 1996 'still at large'

On the 30th anniversary of her 1996 death, Lancashire Police have renewed an appeal for information about 20‑year‑old law student Janet Murgatroyd, whose body was found in the River Ribble.
Police say the incident was sexually motivated; a manslaughter conviction in the case was later quashed on appeal in 2004.
Janet’s family are still seeking closure and urge anyone with information to contact Lancashire Police.
