49ers' First Loss Makes It Clear: Their Toughest Opponent Is Their Health

San Francisco's 6-0 start ended with a 29-20 loss to the Falcons, a comeback bid spoiled by a late George Kittle fumble and a Brock Purdy interception.
The game exposed injury trouble and thin depth — Mike Evans out (Achilles), Deebo Samuel inactive (hamstring) and Christian McCaffrey left with a thigh issue — forcing unproven options into big roles.
Kittle stayed upbeat but warned durability is the key; the 49ers head into the bye week with questions about whether their veteran core can stay healthy for the playoff push.
