Hundreds of tents left by festivalgoers despite pleas

Hundreds of tents were still visible across the Reading site despite organisers' pleas — about 100,000 people attended the festival.
Organisers say fewer tents are being abandoned than in past years, with around two-thirds reportedly taken home, and offered a Co‑Op voucher to those who showed they were removing tents.
Festival Republic has pledged to return the site to its natural state within a fortnight and says it has seen “meaningful change” on tent waste at Reading and sister festival Leeds.
