From Cancer Survivor To World Series Champion: Trey Mancini Announces Retirement

Trey Mancini, 34, announced his retirement after a brief five-game return with the Angels — his last MLB appearance was June 14 and he posted “Thank you, baseball” on Instagram.
He’s best known for beating colon cancer, earning the 2021 AL Comeback Player of the Year award, and helping Houston win the 2022 World Series.
Mancini finished his big-league career batting .263 with 129 homers and 404 RBIs, spent six seasons with the Orioles (29 homers in 2019), and also played for the Astros, Cubs and several minor-league clubs.
